Mulholland Brand can build the whole front of your Los Angeles home, the driveway gate and fence plus the pedestrian gate, as one matched project. It designs the driveway gate, the walk gate and the fence together as one front-yard package in one finish, manufactures all three in-house at its Canoga Park factory, and installs them with its own W-2 crews. No price is given until a design consultant has measured your property on site, and you then get one itemized written quote for the exact configuration. If you want one company to handle all three pieces, ask Mulholland Brand for a quote. For an example, see our Studio City pedestrian gate, fence and driveway gate.
At a glance
- Get the driveway gate and fence, plus the walk gate, from one company: Mulholland Brand designs all three together in one finish, so the frontage matches.
- Book the on-site measurement first: a design consultant measures the opening, grade, swing clearance and drainage before any price is given.
- Expect one itemized written quote: each piece has its own line, and site work such as concrete, electrical and demolition is listed.
- Let your opening decide swing or sliding: swing gates use LiftMaster LA 400 or LA 500 operators, and sliding gates use BFT operators.
- Line up an electrician for an automated gate: we identify the electrical work and list it in the quote, but we do not run power to the operator.
The package works in whatever look you want: modern slats, solid privacy panels, glass, wood-look aluminum, laser-cut designs, spear-top pickets or an iron look. Every piece is powder-coated aluminum, so one finish runs from the driveway gate along the fence to the walk gate. We have been operating since 1994, and we are rated 4.5 stars on average across more than 850 Google and Yelp reviews (as of October 2026). We build these frontages for homes across Los Angeles County, from Encino and Woodland Hills in the San Fernando Valley to Santa Monica, Malibu and Pasadena.
What does the driveway gate and fence package include?
The package is three custom pieces, a driveway gate, a fence and a pedestrian walk gate, designed together as one frontage and quoted line by line:
- A driveway gate. Single swing, double swing or sliding, manual or automated.
- A fence line. In a style that matches the gate.
- A pedestrian walk gate. From the same series as the fence and driveway gate.
We measure each piece on site and build it to fit. Each one gets its own line in the written quote, along with any site work we find at the measurement.
| Piece | Options | What we measure on site | What the quote lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Driveway gate | Single swing, double swing or sliding; manual or automated; slatted, solid privacy, glass, wood-look, laser-cut or spear-top picket | The opening, grade, swing clearance and drainage | The gate in its exact configuration and finish, the operator if the gate is automated, and site work such as concrete, electrical and demolition |
| Fence | Profile 24, Hi-Tech, Glass, Wood-Like, Iron Look, Laser-Cut, Solid or Fancy Fence styles, in 20+ powder-coat colors and wood-look finishes | Terrain, slope and the openings along the fence line | The fence in its chosen style and finish, plus any site work identified at the measurement |
| Pedestrian gate | A walk gate or side gate in the series that matches the fence and driveway gate | The walk-gate opening, grade, swing clearance and drainage | The walk gate in its matching finish, plus any site work at that opening |
The driveway gate
We make our driveway gates from 6063-T5 aluminum, as single swing, double swing or sliding gates, manual or automated. Every gate is measured on site and fabricated to fit its opening. There are no off-the-shelf sizes.
A laser-cut gate is fabricated in-house as a complete gate: the cut aluminum panel is set in a welded aluminum frame. Choose from 39 catalog designs, or have us cut a one-off panel from your own artwork.
The fence
The fence carries most of the frontage's length, so it sets the overall look. Several of our series offer matching walk gates and fencing, which lets the fence carry the driveway gate's lines and finish across the whole front of the lot.
- Colors: more than 20 powder-coat colors.
- Wood-look finishes: three wood-grain patterns, oak, walnut and cedar, with the look of real wood and none of the rot, warping or splitting.
- Fit to the lot: we measure the terrain, slope and openings before we design the fence, so it is built to your actual lot, whether it sits flat or falls away toward the street.
The pedestrian gate
The walk gate is the piece you use every day, and it is the piece most likely to look like an afterthought when it is bought separately. Mulholland Brand builds pedestrian walk gates and side gates in the same series and finish as the fence and driveway gate. We measure the walk gate and fabricate it to its own opening, the same way we handle the driveway gate.
How do the three pieces end up matching?
They match because we design them together and make them in one place. Our aluminum gates and fences, including the laser-cut designs, are cut, welded, powder-coated and finished under one roof at our own Canoga Park factory, with no outsourcing and no imported parts.
Matching is where a three-vendor frontage usually goes wrong. A driveway gate from one shop, a fence from another and a walk gate from a third can come out a shade apart, in profiles that do not line up. When your driveway gate and fence come from the same drawing and the same finishing line, that risk is off the table:
- One drawing. We draw the driveway gate, walk gate and fence as one front-yard package, so slat spacing, panel style and heights are decided together.
- One finish source. We apply the electrostatic powder coat in our own powder coating facility, over marine-grade aluminum. The color on your driveway gate comes from the same place as the color on your fence and walk gate.
- One installer. Our own crew installs all three pieces, so the gate posts, fence line and walk gate are set by the same people.
If your project already has an architect's or builder's drawing, we can fabricate to it. We show finishes at full size in our Canoga Park showroom, which helps when you are choosing between colors or wood-grain patterns.
How does the project run, from measurement to installation?
The project runs in five steps, and the first is a visit to your property. Your quote is a written, itemized price based on what we measured on site, not a phone estimate.
- Consultation and on-site measurement. A design consultant measures the driveway opening, the grade (how the ground slopes), the swing clearance and the drainage, and looks at the terrain, slope and openings along the fence line. This visit is where swing versus sliding is decided, and where site work such as concrete, electrical and demolition is identified.
- Design of all three pieces together. We design the driveway gate, walk gate and fence as one package. You pick a style series and one finish from 20+ powder-coat colors or the wood-look grains.
- Itemized written quote. You get one written price for the exact configuration. Each piece has its own line, and the site work found at the measurement is listed, so the scope is clear before you sign.
- Fabrication and powder coating in Canoga Park. We cut, weld, powder-coat and finish all three pieces in-house at our Canoga Park factory.
- Installation by our own crew. Our own W-2 employees install the project, not subcontractors, so scheduling and accountability stay with one company from the first visit to the last bolt.
Swing or sliding: which driveway gate fits your opening?
We check your opening at the on-site measurement and recommend swing or sliding based on what we find. A swing gate needs clear space to open across the driveway. A sliding gate needs a straight run beside the opening to travel along. Your opening, grade and swing clearance usually settle the question. Our guide to sliding or swing gates covers the trade-offs.
Both types are built from the same aluminum. Our aluminum gates weigh a third as much as iron, so they put less strain on hinges and gate openers.
Swing driveway gates
Our swing driveway gates come as a single swing or a double swing, with aluminum hinges, a mortise lock and a latch. An automated swing gate uses a LiftMaster LA 400 or LA 500 operator.
Sliding driveway gates
Our sliding driveway gates come with a ground track and wheels. An automated sliding gate uses a BFT operator.
| Swing gate | Sliding gate | |
|---|---|---|
| Configurations | Single swing or double swing | Sliding |
| Hardware included | Aluminum hinges, mortise lock, latch | Ground track and wheels |
| Operator if automated | LiftMaster LA 400 or LA 500 | BFT |
| Decided by | The opening, grade and swing clearance we measure on site | The opening, grade and swing clearance we measure on site |
Your walk gate stays a separate pedestrian entry beside the driveway gate, so visitors and deliveries can come in on foot without the driveway gate opening.
What do you need to arrange separately?
There is one item to arrange separately: power for an automated driveway gate. Mulholland Brand does not install electrical components. We identify the electrical work your automated gate will need at the measurement and list it in the itemized quote, and you arrange the power supply with an electrician. You should also check your city's front-yard fence and gate rules before heights are final.
Power for an automated driveway gate
Most advice on automated gates tells you to ask who does the electrical work, so here is the plain answer. We supply the gate and, if it is automated, the operator: LiftMaster for swing gates, BFT for sliding gates. We do not run power to the operator.
You do not have to guess what is needed, because the measurement flags the electrical work and the quote names it. Take that line from the quote to a licensed electrician, and book them early so the power supply is ready when the gate goes in. Choose a manual gate and there is no electrical item at all.
Your city's front-yard fence and gate rules
Check your city's rules for front-yard fences and gates before you settle on heights, and look them up for the city your home is actually in.
If you live in an HOA community, check the board's design rules too. We work with HOA boards and community managers on gate and fence projects.
What does the warranty cover?
Our gates and fences come with the same written warranty: one year for defects in manufacture or assembly, and three years against rust on the aluminum slats and posts. The full terms are set out in our written warranty.
Upkeep is light. Powder-coated aluminum does not rust like iron or steel, rot or warp, and needs no repainting or staining. Care is a fresh-water rinse plus a check of the hardware and moving parts. The routine is the same for the driveway gate, the fence and the walk gate, so you look after the whole frontage the same way.
Who should call someone else?
Mulholland Brand is the right call for a new, matched frontage in aluminum. We are not the right call in these cases:
- You want real timber. We do not build real wood gates or fences, only wood-look aluminum. For actual timber, call a wood fence builder or a carpenter.
- You want an existing gate repaired that another company built. We do not service gates we did not build, so call a gate repair company. If your old gate is rusted wrought iron and you would rather replace it, we do replace rusted wrought-iron gates with custom aluminum gates.
- You need a firm price before anyone sees the property. Every quote we give follows an on-site measurement, because each piece is built to your actual opening, grade and slope.
Frequently asked questions
Can one company really build my driveway gate, fence and walk gate and make them match?
Yes. Mulholland Brand designs the driveway gate and fence together with the walk gate as one front-yard package, matched in one finish. We make all three in our own Canoga Park factory and install them with our own crew. You deal with one company, get one itemized written quote and have one crew on site.
How much will the whole frontage cost?
We price it after the on-site measurement, as an itemized written price for your exact configuration. The price depends on your opening, the length of the fence, the style, whether the driveway gate is automated, and the site work we find at the visit. That is why we do not quote it over the phone.
Who does the electrical work for an automatic driveway gate?
An electrician you arrange. Mulholland Brand does not install electrical components. We identify the electrical work at the measurement and list it in the quote, so you know exactly what to ask the electrician for.
Will an aluminum gate rust like my old wrought-iron gate did?
No. Powder-coated aluminum does not rust like iron or steel, and our written warranty covers the aluminum slats and posts against rust for three years.
Can the gate and fence look like wood?
Yes, in wood-look aluminum, in oak, walnut and cedar wood-grain patterns. It has the look of real wood without the rot, warping or splitting, and needs less upkeep than wood.
Will it hold up near the coast, in Malibu or Santa Monica?
Yes. Our aluminum is marine-grade, with an electrostatic powder coat applied in our own powder coating facility, a corrosion-resistant finish that holds up to Southern California sun and salt air.
Which parts of Los Angeles do you cover?
Mulholland Brand serves all of Los Angeles County, including Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, Encino, Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Santa Monica, Pasadena, Altadena and Westlake Village. We also serve Orange, Ventura and San Diego counties.
Request an on-site measurement and written quote
The first step is the measurement visit. One of our design consultants will come to your home and measure the driveway opening, grade, swing clearance and drainage, along with the fence line. You then get one itemized written quote covering the driveway gate, the fence and the walk gate, with any concrete, electrical or demolition work named in it. Booking the measurement early also gives you time to line up an electrician if your driveway gate will be automated.
