Mulholland Brand designs, builds and installs custom powder-coated aluminum gates to replace rusted wrought-iron gates in Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and across Ventura County. Our aluminum does not rust or rot, so the new gate won't rust like the old one. We make every gate in-house and install it with our own W-2 crews.

At a glance

Why replace wrought iron with aluminum

Rust usually starts at the bottom rail, the welds and the hinges. Sand it and paint it, and it comes back. At some point the gate looks worn, sticks, or no longer suits the house.

Aluminum ends that cycle. Rust only forms on iron and steel, and our powder-coated aluminum does not rust or rot. The color is a baked-on finish rather than brushed-on paint. We explain more in how aluminum compares to iron and why aluminum gates don't rust.

Replacing the gate is also a chance to change the look of your entry:

Which gate do you need?

Driveway gate. The main vehicle entrance and usually the most visible part of the property. We build sliding and swinging aluminum driveway gates, manual or automated. If you're deciding between the two, see sliding gate or swing gate.

Pedestrian or side gate. Used every day, so it needs to open easily, lock securely and match the rest of the property.

Gate plus fence. If the rusted gate sits in a dated fence, we can build a matching aluminum fence so the whole boundary looks like one design.

Plan the access at the same time

If your old gate had an opener, keypad or intercom, or you want to add one, bring it up at the start. We offer keypad and fingerprint locks, car-integrated openers and intercoms, designed together with the gate. See our automated gates for the options.
