Fancy Fence Gate System
A counterweighted leaf that drops into a sealed vault beneath the driveway — the one gate that works on a slope without regrading it.
Most gates need level ground and room to swing or slide. Fancy Fence needs neither. The leaf travels straight down into a reinforced concrete vault, balanced by counterweights on cables and pulleys, so it opens in seconds, takes no space beside the driveway, and sits flush with the fence line when closed. We fabricate, install and service it across Southern California.
Our work
Because the leaf moves vertically instead of swinging or sliding, it can be installed on an inclined driveway without levelling the ground around it. On a slope that rules out every other gate, this is usually the only answer.
The travel distance is a fraction of a sliding gate's, so full opening and closing is several times quicker than the gates it competes with. You are through it before a sliding gate has cleared its track.
No swing arc to keep clear, no track running along the fence line, no gap where the leaf parks. A narrow plot or a garage sitting close to the boundary stops being a problem.
The counterweights carry the weight of the leaf, so the system is balanced rather than driven by force. It uses the same sensor set as our sliding gates, mounted discreetly either side of the opening, and a handle in the centre cover opens it by hand if power is lost.
The posts assemble into a retractable fence of any length, so the gate and the run read as one line rather than as two systems meeting. Widths are made to your opening.
The vault is groundwork, so every site is surveyed before installation and the drainage is planned with it. Fabrication is ours, in Canoga Park, and so is the crew that puts it in.
Choose your style
Installed on the slope as it stands. Where the leaf sits across the incline we add channel drainage along the top line so water never runs into the vault.
No swing arc and no parked leaf, so the gate takes only the width of the opening itself — the case that usually defeats a swing or a slider.
The same posts carry on as fencing for any length of run, so the entrance and the property line are one continuous design.
The walk gate pivots on one of the pickets instead of hinges, using a horizontal beam, so it disappears into the fence line until it is opened.
